History of Our School

The school was established in about 1884 in a Wesleyan Church Hall in Tucker Street. On 1 February 1887, they moved into a building in Norris Street. Miss Redfarn was the principal of the school. There were 42 pupils in the school.

The school was an English–medium school until 1935 and then continued as a dual-medium school until 1958 when the Afrikaans medium learners went to HF Verwoerd  (currently IK Nkoane Primary) school.

The new school was built in 1972 on the corner of Lake Road and Green Street. It remained an English medium school and had about 80 learners at that stage with one class per grade.

Extensions/ renovations were added to the school from 2017 onwards to cater for more than a thousand learners from different cultural, religious and racial backgrounds around Kimberley. The current principal is Mr.Pophaim who leads a staff component of about 35 teachers and support staff.
